FAQ
About Comprehensive Exam
How often should I get a comprehensive eye exam?
We recommend getting an eye examonce a year, even if you don’t have vision problems. Regular check-ups help detect early signs of eye conditions like glaucoma or cataracts before symptoms appear.
How long does an eye exam take?
A typical comprehensive eye exam takes about45 minutes to an hour, depending on the tests needed. If dilation is required, your visit may take a little longer.
Will my eyes be dilated during the exam?
Not always! Dilation depends on your eye health, medical history, and the tests required. If dilation is needed, it helps us get a clearer view of the back of your eyes to check for any hidden issues.
Does insurance cover eye exams?
Yes! We accept VSP, EyeMed, Medicare Supplement Part B, and PPO plans that include vision coverage. Check with your provider or give us a call—we’re happy to help!
Can an eye exam detect other health issues?
Absolutely! Eye exams can reveal signs of diabetes, high blood pressure, and even brain tumors before other symptoms appear.
